Breakfast Design (Winterthur)
Organized by Gumdesign, after the edition held in Milan, the Breakfast Design exhibition also took place in Winterthur, Switzerland, at the Gewerbemuseum museum. Many designers invited to participate with their own project, including Nicola Adami, Enrico Azzimonti, Sergio Catalano, Giuseppe di Somma, Giulio Iacchetti, Raffaele Iannello, Joe Velluto, Makoto Kawamoto, Luca Nichetto, Nucleo, Gabriele Pezzini, Matteo Ragni, Mike Ryan, Luca Scacchetti. The exhibition reinterpreted the rituality of the Italian breakfast, analyzing the trends, gestures and methods of consumption. All this is also told in the exhibition catalog.
Raffaele Iannello presented the Biscuit Lamp, whose prototype was produced by Slamp. Since the exhibition in which this lamp was presented had as its theme breakfast, the idea was to evoke this moment and stimulate the desire for its imminent enjoyment. Practically, when you are still under the covers, looking at the alarm clock on the bedside table, the gaze of the user is struck by the magical glow emitted by these bright cookies and the urge to get up comes out like magic.
