Jävla
This piece of furniture was conceived by Raffaele Iannello for the IDEA exhibition held in 2018 first in Milan, then in Copenhagen and finally in Eindhoven. The theme of the exhibition was a reflection on how the IKEA brand has imposed its rules on a certain segment of the global furniture market. In this case, ironic and surreal products were proposed that the Swedish company would never produce, even though they were made with the same materials and the same technology normally used by it.
And this is how the typical knife thrower wheel has become a piece of furniture for the children’s bedroom, who can thus play by pretending to be part of the magical world of the circus. The product is made entirely of wood, with some parts painted white, some black and others left natural.
The name chosen for this project is a Swedish word which means “Damn!”, that is the exclamation that would surely come out sooner or later if children really played with this irreverent piece of furniture.
