Will’s Mess
Born as a spin-off of the famous Voodoo / The Ex set, Will’s Mess is practically its half-bust version. In ancient times, all famous people were sooner or later portrayed with a half-bust statue and so it happened, more recently, also for this famous icon of contemporary design.
Will is short for the English name William. The product is so called because, as you probably already guessed, it is inspired by the legendary character of William Tell.
According to legend, William should have hit the apple resting on his son’s head with the arrow shot from his crossbow, to set him free. In this ironic reinterpretation, the designer Raffaele Iannello hypothesized that William however took the wrong aim and, instead of the apple, his arrow hit the poor son’s head in the forehead, piercing it from side to side.
This set of pen and stand is available in two versions: with whole apple and with bitten apple. The first version is suitable for writing or drawing on analogue media, the other on digital ones. The version with the whole apple is in fact combined with a ballpoint pen with ink. The version with the bitten apple is instead accompanied by a stylus pen compatible with the touchscreen of any smartphone or tablet.
